Timber & Stone is located on a rural property in Glenorie which is still used for agriculture, providing a unique ambience for any event. The property was purchased some 12 years ago from a family of Rose farmers who had been here since the 1950’s. It comprises a number of hothouses/greenhouses, which were used for the production of Roses and are now used for growing figs, and other fruit trees. A few years ago we decided to transform part of the property into an exclusive area which would become Timber & Stone. These works consisted of extensive landscaping, including a two tiered sandstone garden incorporating over 120 sandstone blocks sourced from local quarries. These garden beds are now established with a vast array of both Australian and exotic flora providing the perfect setting for the event space which was to follow.
Having built the gardens the next step was to transform the old glasshouse into an area which is both unique, yet still incorporating the original structure, which by now had become dilapidated and in need of repair. Maintaining the original footprint of the glass house, we replaced the glass with modern roofing whilst keeping the original exposed hardwood timber trusses which support the whole structure. After years in the making, the final product is a very unique event space unlike any other in the area. One would have to travel hundreds of kilometres to find anything comparable.
Pure Bliss
As the name suggests, Timber & Stone is a very natural space which uses raw materials as its inspiration and foundation. The idea was to create a space that flowed with the rural setting providing a very natural ambience. The entertainment area is approximately 700sqm with concrete flooring and exposed hardwood timber trusses. Since the space is also used to grow grape vines and other plants, the roof sheet provides ample lighting for any event and ensures the best conditions for the perfect photo opportunities. Using recycled hardwood timber fence palings, a large bar has been constructed with the centerpiece being an Australian classic Daisy Howard vintage tractor. Kitchen facilities have also been built making it the perfect blank canvas venue for any event.
The whole structure is surrounded by a beautifully landscaped area, incorporating sandstone tiered gardens and large level grassed areas which flow naturally with the structure. It is both an indoor and outdoor area which can be used in any weather. Plants are our passion, and over the years we have continued to add to the large variety of both indoor and outdoor plants giving the place a natural and beautiful appeal. This is an ongoing process, and depending on the date of your event, different colours and flowers manifest throughout the seasons, including a large area covered with mature vines and grapes.
There is also ample room for car parking on the private property and we try to offer our own traffic control on the day of your event to ensure the room is maximised and safe. Depending on the time of year we are also welcome to giving tours of the farm and the fig tree orchard on the property.

Timber & Stone is available for private hire by direct contact. The space is ideal for parties, anniversaries, weddings, corporate functions, wine tasting, bridal showers or any event you may be planning. Since it is a unique venue, we highly recommend viewing before you commit to any hire. Our prices are flexible depending on the nature of the event, the days required, and the number of people attending. The capacity of the venue varies depending on the seating arrangements, with a maximum of about 300 guests.
We can also provide an inhouse catering service, with a wood fired oven, and wood smokers being available on the premises.
Timber & Stone also has an extensive collection of vintage furniture for hire depending on the nature of the event you plan on holding. These are available for inspection.
